the concept of Sustainability can be considered to have its origin with Theodore Roosevelt that in 1910 argued: I know the right and the duty of this generation of develop and use the natural resouces of our planet, but I don’t recognize the right to waste them, or still them in an uncontrolable use, to the comming generation. In 1987, the UN Comission on Environment and Development, known by the Brundtland Comission, elaborated a definition on which the sustainable development is that answers to the needs of the present without compromising the capacity for the next generations to answer to their own needs. Sustainability should be attained in three interdependent dimensions, related to the environment, economy and society, to which there has been given the name sustainability tripod, or the triple bottom line.
