in december 1997, a convention on climate change by the UN (UNFCCC), took place in the japonese town of Kyoto, and gathered delegates of 160 countries to discuss the theme of global warming. This gathering resulted on an international agreement called Kyoto Protocol, adopted by the present countries. It defnes that the industrialized nations agree to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by a medium level of 5,2% bellow the 1990 emissions, until 2010.
